A stylish and functional kitchen and living space for up to 7 people in a let flat. Our client asked for a design that would suit a range of tastes and offer the occupants a room that delivers comfort and style. Sustainability was a large factor of our proposal, resulting in several reuse and repurpose choices.
A quick turnaround project on a smart budget; Boaz Studio created connections between the period property and its new purpose as let flats.
The brief required a functional kitchen and living space that would be able to host up to 7 people in a let flat. Boaz Studio needed to balance functionality, sustainability, and style on a smart budget to create a versatile space situated within a period property. Existing stained-glass windows were to be highlighted as a feature as well as the requirement to work with the pre-selected elements such as the kitchen, flooring & paint.
To meet our sustainable ethos and the modest budget, pieces were selected locally to reuse or upcycle from Facebook Marketplace. The choices were made to fit a wide range of tastes as well as bring a sense of timelessness and suit the period property. Our inspiration stemmed from the colour and patterns of the stained-glass windows which constructed connections between the old building and its new purpose. This was a quick turnaround project, requiring our completed proposals within a week.
A full furniture, fixtures, and fittings pack, electrical pack, mood boards, and two fully rendered visualizations to present to the client.

Alice and Stephen from Boaz were fantastic to work with. Boaz Studio came in to advise on the complete refurbishment of the communal space here at Sunley Orford House, a purpose-built block of quality retirement housing in the centre of Truro. Having listened thoroughly to the design brief he provided well thought out advice on materials, colours and decoration with options that not only bring a more contemporary feel but will revitalise the space for the future.
